This hand-cut blue elephant stencil was used for over two years to complete 'blue elephants' canvases and prints and to also hand-embellish the back cover of my novel, The Holden Age of Hollywood, at several book signings in LA, Chicago, and New York.  
 
 
'blue elephants' was originally penned as a passage in my first novel, "The Holden Age of Hollywood." When I began WRDSMTHing in 2013, several thoughts and phrases and passages from the book were made into WRDs -- 'blue elephants' one of them. I think I wanted to test my audience to see if they'd read and accept a lengthy passage. To my surprise, 'blue elephants' was embraced and, over the years, has become an iconic WRDSMTH piece, along with the less-is-more blue elephant imagery.
